Other Ways to Donate

Deciding on the right gift for the Orange County Beach Cities Foundation can be difficult. It’s vital to think about your most important personal and family goals. This could range from maximizing tax benefits, and producing income, to preserving assets for your heirs.

Below are some the ways you can make a gift to the Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation (OCBCAF):

Legacy Planning

Generosity comes in many forms, and it’s often the best way for you to support important causes that matter the most to you in your life. When you give to Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation (501c3), you help us find new solutions to old problems here in Orange County. You help us run essential programs and services. You help this fight become a win.

Start here by learning the different gift options available to you. We will work with you to find a charitable plan that lets you provide for your family and support Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation. Your gift could be done either anonymously or to be announced as part of our Legacy Circle.

Trust Solutions for Large Donations

If you have built a sizable estate and also are looking for ways to receive reliable payments, consider a charitable remainder trust. At the end of the trust term, the balance in the trust goes to Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation.

These types of gifts may offer you tax benefits and the option for income. There are two ways to receive payments and each has its own benefits:

The annuity trust pays you, each year, the same dollar amount you choose at the start. Your payments stay the same, regardless of fluctuations in trust investments.

The unitrust pays you, each year, a variable amount based on a fixed percentage of the fair market value of the trust assets. The amount of your payments is redetermined annually. If the value of the trust increases, so do your payments. If the value decreases, however, so will your payments.

Wills and Living Trust Donations

You want to leave money to Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation in your will. You also want the flexibility to change your will in the event that life circumstances change. You can do both.

In as little as one sentence, you can complete your gift. This type of donation to Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation in your will or living trust helps ensure that we continue our mission for years to come. Please consider making a percentage amount versus a dollar amount gift as part of your request.

Beneficiary Designations

Not everyone wants to commit to making a gift in their wills or estates. Some prefer the increased flexibility that a beneficiary designation provides by using:

  • IRAs and retirement plans
  • Life insurance policies
  • Commercial annuities

It only takes three simple steps to make this type of gift. Here’s how to name Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation as a beneficiary:

  1. Contact your retirement plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution for a change-of-beneficiary form.
  2. Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like us to receive and name us, along with the percentage you chose, on the beneficiary form.
  3. Return the completed form to your plan administrator, insurance company, bank or financial institution.
IRA Charitable Rollover

Make a difference today and save on taxes. It’s possible when you support Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation through your IRA.

You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit and you can feel good knowing that you are making a difference at OCBCA. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.

Why Consider This Gift?

  • Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.
Beginning in the year you turn 72, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
  • You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
  • Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
Memorable and Tribute Gifts

If you have a loved one who has been impacted by Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation, establishing a memorial or tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor your loved one or celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday while supporting the work of our mission. Your memorial or tribute gift will be a lasting tribute to your loved one and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

AN EXAMPLE OF HOW IT WORKS
When Nancy’’s father passed away, she knew she wanted to do something that would establish a lasting legacy for him. She remembered that during his lifetime he was always praising OCBCAF for its tireless efforts to better his community.

Nancy decided to make a gift to OCBCAF in her father’s name using appreciated securities. Not only will her father’s legacy live on at United Way thanks to the gift and a commemorative plaque, but Nancy also received a federal income tax charitable deduction (because she itemizes her taxes) and eliminated capital gains tax on the securities.

Real Estate Gifts

Want to make a big gift to Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation without touching your bank account? Consider giving us real estate. Such a generous gift helps us continue our work for years to come. And a gift of real estate also helps you. When you give us appreciated property you have held longer than one year, you qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction. This eliminates capital gains tax. And you no longer have to deal with that property’s maintenance costs, property taxes or insurance.

Another benefit: You don’t have to hassle with selling the real estate. You can deed the property directly to OBCAF or ask your attorney to add a few sentences in your will or trust agreement.

An Endowment Gift

An endowment gift to Orange County Beach Cities Aikido Foundation today provides a brighter picture for our future. When you make a donation to our endowment, you give a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits.

Endowment donations are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs at OCBCAF. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support.

AN EXAMPLE OF HOW IT WORKS
Longtime supporters Bill and Julie have two goals: First, they want to make sure OCBCAF continues to receive support after they’re gone. Second, they want to memorialize Bill’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Needham.

Bill and Julie make a $25,000 donation to OCBCAF, which we invest, and each year, a portion of the income from the invested money will be used to support our mission in honor of the Needhams. Plus, Bill and Julie qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction on their taxes.

Donor Advised Fund

A donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to OCBCAF and other qualified charities. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.

Donating a Vehicle (Car)

Please contact us for more information regarding the vehicle you would like to donate. Our partners will contact you by phone within 24 hours to help finalize your donation. If you prefer, you may contact us directly. Thank you for your support of the OCBCAF.
